Welcome to West Cornwall AND BEYOND

I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky…
— John Masefield

West Cornwall is a beautiful and inspiring place to live and has been the focus of art since the establishment of the art colonies of Lamorna, Newlyn and St. Ives. The light is clear and bright with the sea close by on both sides of the Land’s End peninsula.

There are picturesque harbours, remote and rugged cliffs, isolated wild moorlands, 19th century industrial remains, and an ocean with moods ranging from calm and deceptively placid to ranging North Atlantic storms.

Painting and art in general is my passion. I paint ‘en plein air’ as well as using photographic references for studio images in watercolour, acrylic and oil paint. Favourite locations in West Cornwall include Newlyn, Penzance and St. Ives harbours, and the coast from St. Ives to Land’s End and up on the moor.

In addition to painting I teach watercolour, I have a framing studio and organise open exhibitions for local artists.
